PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Sunita Agarwal graduated from Loreto College, Kolkata and pursued advanced training at Birla Academy of Art & Culture and the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. She later trained at the Edinburgh Atelier of Fine Art and the Academy of Realist Art, Boston.

For more than three decades she has developed an independent studio practice centered on the female figure and the emotional life of ordinary spaces. Her approach combines classical drawing discipline with a baroque sensitivity to light and atmosphere.

Awards include recognition at the All India Women Artists’ Contemporary Art Exhibition and multiple collegiate distinctions. Her works have been exhibited at the National Gallery of Modern Art, India Habitat Centre, Lalit Kala Akademi, Mayor’s Gallery Boston and other institutions.


Experienced visual artist with a sustained artistic practice and extensive exposure to gallery, studio, and institutional art environments. Trained in realistic and narrative visual art, with hands-on experience supporting exhibitions, studio workflow, live painting programmes, and public-facing art initiatives.
